Otis’ 60th Birthday Celebration

The opportunity
We were honoured to be asked to cater for Otis’ 60th birthday, a particularly exciting opportunity as Otis previously held a senior role within McLaren Formula 1.
This was also our very first event under the Reclaimed Fire name, making it a milestone moment for the business and the beginning of our live-fire journey.
With temperatures soaring above 30°C, the British summer provided the perfect backdrop; though working the fires in that heat certainly pushed the team’s resilience.
We were positioned between long, dry grass and a stunning stretch tent, which naturally made the client cautious about fire safety. To manage the risk, we kept a hose on hand and regularly dampened the surrounding area to prevent any scorching. With these precautions in place, the event ran flawlessly from start to finish.
It was the ideal setting to showcase our theatre, precision, and passion.
What we delivered
Preparation began two days before the event, with our team working from the client’s home to ensure every detail was perfect.
This event marked the first time our Fire Cage and Asado Frames were used side by side; a proud moment for us and a true showcase of what Reclaimed Fire stands for.
Mains - Served to Share:
- 3 whole lambs (Al Asador)
- 18 planks of Chalk-Stream trout
- 18 hanging churrasco chickens
- 16 fire-caramelised pineapples
- 14 aged beef picanha skewers
Setting the fire rigs alone took around 90 minutes, a meticulous process that ensures consistency, airflow, and perfect searing temperatures.
Main course service operated from a kitchen behind the stretch tent, with 10 tables each receiving two platters of every meat alongside salads and sauces.
It was all hands on deck, for a seamless, high-energy service executed with precision by our team.

The Outcome
A truly spectacular celebration.The stretch tent created a stunning setting and Lyndy’s attention to detail brought the entire space to life with beautifully dressed tables.Service was smoothly orchestrated:
- One third of the team led canapé and nibble service from the house
- One third plated starters, salads and sauces
- The remaining team worked the pits and broke down the meats with precision
It was a seamless effort that highlighted the strength, coordination and professionalism of the Reclaimed Fire team.
The result: An unforgettable event filled with exceptional flavour, theatre, and hospitality; for a special birthday.
